mercruiser 5.7 l engine falls death

goodday.

today whe did a run whit aboat touring around the water etc, and after 1 hour or 2 when whe stopt boating, and after the 2 hours again whe went boating again atleast when hoped, the engine starts and fals right after it death again, only in high rpm on choke stand it wil run and when putting it back again in neutral it falls death? oil is in okay range, maybe oil senso?? i dont know,

oh yess my badd, its a carb engine, engine from series out of 1998-2001, whe got properbly the cause also already, the connectors from the oil pump if i am correct where eroded to the fuel pomp, i started the engine this morning and it whas running like clock work again, where going to clean all the connectors and wires for to be sure
