Hey guys, New to the forum and had a question. I have a 1996 Maxum 1900 Sr with the mercruiser 4.3lx gen+. A few years back the block cracked on me due to being winterized improperly. Well to make a long story short, I was just wondering if this is the same block used in the 4.3l Chevy s10? They are much easier to find and much cheaper. Thanks in advance!

Yes BUT,

Different cam, head gasket, starter, water pump, core plugs are NOT stamped steel for marine, and maybe a few other things......its early!

You would need to swap intake, starter, water pump, replace head gaskets and core plugs and flywheel assembly.

Maybe more stuff.

Thanks for the quick reply! The engine with the bad block had under 100 hours on it so I feel fine just transferring all of the marine stuff onto the new block
