Hello,
I'm a beginner in this world of boats and a new member in this forum:D
I need your help about my maxum 1900 sr with a mercruiser 4.3 engine.
I have my boat stopped since 10 years ago, and I want put my boat working.
When I stopped my boat I didn't clean the refrigeration system well, and recently when I open the tubes of refrigeration I saw a lot of rust as it is normal because not cleaned well.
So I need your help about what maybe happened in engine and what I need to do for repair my engine.

Where do you live? What happened to your engine depends on climate. I think what you are calling the "refrigeration unit" is really the "heat exchanger" a part of the cooling system . Was boat used in salt or fresh water?
 
At the very least, do NOT run it until the water pump impeller is changed (or it will toss vanes into the exchanger--not good!)

I live in Portugal, yes the correct term is heat exchanger. The boat was used in a river but near than river mouth what means that have some salt .
What can I do for clean the heat exchanger?
