Hey guys I am in the process replacing all the bellows hoses and shift cable. I have ran into a problem I purchased the special 15mm socket with the 3/4” nut welded onto it to remove the shift cable tube. Also soaked it in PB Blaster for a couple hours prior to trying to loosen the tube. The nut stripped out. Has anyone had this issue how did you guys get it off at that point?

corrosion rears its ugly head again.
cut the outer sheath behind the housing, using a solid control cable core available from most shops for free pull the inner core from inside the boat and pass the solid core thru to the housing. hold with vise grips. Now you can remove the outer sheath from inside the boat leaving the solid core.
On the housing , break off the plastic guide, start drilling using larger bits .The correct bit to retap the housing is 7/16 ths. The correct tap is 1/4 x 28 npst .This is a straight tap not to be confused with a 1/4 pipe tap that is tapered.
To install new cable:
push core thru the new cable casing till it comes out the end, vise grip to hold it .lube brass end, force thru bellow, using the core as the guide push cable into boat .
laying the cable as straight as possible ,add sealant to the threaded end and tighten. If you cant get it straight have someone inside the boat turning the casing CCW while you turn CW
If you twist and kink you destroyed the new cable

I don’t absolutely need to replace the shift cable could I pull the whole cable and outer containment through the transome? Along with the whole head unit? I am mainly needing to replace the U joint bellows and the water intake hose along with the Lube hose.

now that we have more info:
cut the oil hose FIRST , remove the trim sender and limit switch, remove the aluminum ring in the bellow, then with a hinge pin tool and maybe some high heat remove the hinge pins ,cut the water inlet hose.
For assembly:
get the transom kit with the molded hose qsl 803099t1
get oil hose 2-3 inches longer than what you removed and "Power-Tune" to install the hose. install on the housing side first, DO NOT BREAK THE UPPER PLASTIC NIPPLE FOR THE HOSE, use "hose pliers" to install the hose.
the bellow has a lip that goes into the housing ,spray the ring with power tune and it should push into place. re-assemble everything leaving the hose for last. spray hose and fitting and use the hose pliers to install the hose CAREFULLY
,I have found that ty-wraps on the hose are not necessary.
