I have an 84 Sylvan with a 3.0. I want to set my timing but when I disconnect the green wire from the distributor which is for the monetary kill switch for shifting. inside the port of the distributor is just a solid bar so another words I would be jumping that solid bar. Do I clip a wire on that bar inside the distributor and grounded to the motor or can somebody tell me the proper procedure another words I don't appear to have two separate points to put a jumper across inside the distributor port. I tried to upload a picture of the inside of the distributor port but for some reason it's not showing up. Again remember I only have one wire going to that distributor port next to it are the two power wires in a different port I have read There are two white wires this that and the other but I only have one wire on that plug

Come on gentleman somebody has had to seen this ignition system is just a standard generic electronic distributor no points it has one plug with a red and black wire going into it the other plug is a single wire that comes out of it and go straight up into the kill switch for shifting I just want to know if I unplug that wire and ground distributor out there to put it in the base timing because everybody talks about two white wires I don't have that I just have a plug with a single wire

Well ,if it has a red and black wire going to the coil its a petronix electroninc system and if just point and shoot
