Mercruiser 3.0 problem

kghost, eventually some progress, the explanation in your last reply did the work, dont ask me how it could get in that position. Anyhow it is in place now and everything is aligned.

Unfortunately the engine will still not start, what can I say? :)

The engine cranks, there is spark, but it wont start. All the fuses are ok.

Changed fuel filter, just in case.

I looked at the carburetor, it gets fuel but I dont know if it is plenty. I also opened manually the air intake at the carburetor and trying to start it that way it almost start. It coughs a little but wont start.

I added some more fresh fuel and added some fuel stabilizer.

I had to winterize the boat today and it will be stored away tomorrow for the winter so I will not be able to do any new test for some time, but I appreciate all help I can get.

I also want to thank you kghost and Rod for all help.

When you put the upper g/box onto the lower g/box,you got the splines out of alignment.lift the upper box back off a bit, make sure the prop shaft is in forward gear, make sure the upper foot is straight ahead, then lower the upper box down .the foot should swing thru 90 degrees, forward nuetral and reverse, with reverse being at 9 oclock, nuetral at 10.30.and forward at 12 oclock.
