Mercruiser 3.0 engine cuts off when putting in gear

HISTORY PLEASE (new problem???) .... year of engine, S/N if you can find it.
Without full history, i.e., tuneup history, age of gas, etc, etc, fixing this will take more time than it needs to.

Many that post and help others on here, are happy to help you too..

But Please provide more info about the history of the boat etc.. as asked.

Is this the first time you've run the boat ? .. when did it last run Ok.

Is the Fuel Fresh? or has it been sitting for 10 years.. ( even sitting a less than a year can give you problems )

Has any work been done to the boat recently ?

We are not asking for you to write a book.. but more than a sentence is helpful.
