Mercruiser 228 - intake manifold gasket

Do l use the rubber gaskets for the ends as supplied by the supplier or would l use a silicone sealer- with no rubber gaskets

Most factory manuals I have call for RTV on the "ends" (of the lifter valley on the block)...

Black RTV , clean the block, place a generous bead, set manifold in place, start and SNUG the bolts, let cure then torque/tighten all the bolts. This prevents you from squishing out the sealant and provides a better seal

Ayuh,.... This is what I do too,..... except I finger tighten the bolts, til the RTV cures,.....
