Merccruiser Question

I have a 5.0 Merccruiser Inboard that I was told the Exhaust Manifolds are cracked and was told I have water in my oil.
I have had no problems at all so I question it BUT I heard of some Thermosteel and a guy suggested "fixing" with that. This is new to me so any advice is greatly appreciated!

Faulty or cracked exhaust manifolds can lead to water intrusion.
Water intrusion can cause severe damage to a Marine engine.
A replacement Marine engine and replacement labor can be rather expensive.

In other words, don't mess around trying to repair something such as these…..... Replace them with new.

Ayuh,.... So you don't consider water in the oil a problem,..??

Someone had to tell you,..?? You don't check yer own oil,..??

I suggest ya find another hobby,.... this one is gonna get expensive, rather quickly,....

...I'm still laughing at that response. I just decided to buy an old i/o boat as a project and joined this forum, but I have restored old tube radios for years, and we say the same thing to people who decide to restore their grandfathers old radio. " If you plug it in before you fix the electronics, this hobby is gonna get expensive real quick!"

Had a Newbie buy his first twin inboard boat. Called the PO and asked if the new motor was supposed to smoke that much.
Never knew the seacocks were still shut off and was burning the paint off the motor .Yes, it did a valve job and a head shaving to correct the problems. Not to mention there were no vanes left anywhere to be found. Melted rubber inside the raw water pumps.
