i have a ford motor (302) and also two (350) motors i will like to put one of them in a boat i am redoing, which will be the best to use i also need to know what ratio of gears will go with each motor

Need more info.

Typically there is enough hp and torque difference between these two engines to dictate a difference in final drive ratio.
However, depending on the hull size, both the 5.0L Ford and the 5.7L SBC may (key word "may") be able to use the same over-all ratio.
Small boat, for example.

The GM SBC parts are going to be easier to find, if that's a concern.

Thanks Rick its a help, the boat is 231/2'long i got two 350 motors from a chriscraft i want to install one of them into this boat, looking for the right trans and upper & lower stern drives that will accomadate this motor.

The available Merc ratios can be found here.

The 1.5:1 appears to be correct for the 5.7L SBC.
