Was getting my boat ready to go. I changed the lower unit oil and it looked good. Nice and clean without metal shavings. When you shift to go forward or back there is a some slipping before it engages. It sounds like maybe a little gear slip as you put it in forward or reverse. Could this be something I can fix myself or should I just take it to a marina. I like working on outboard.Oh the motor is a 50 hp Merc 4 stroke.
