Merc Quicksilver tank fitting stuck

Hi all

Can anyone give me some advice on how to remove a stuck quick connector from my quicksilver tank? I can push the push tab thing in but the connector will not come off the tank no matter how much i jiggle it or how hard I pull on it.

The push tab was springing back into position when i pushed it, but seems to be disconnected from the spring altogether now. I can't take the whole unit off the tank as you can't get to the fourth screw when the quick connector is in!

Anyone know who to get the stuck quick connector out?

Have tried it but didn't want to put too much pressure on as assume I'd damage the tank fitting and these tanks are very expensive here, although the quick connects are pretty cheap... Oh, well, will get a bit rougher I guess and see what happens, cheers.
