1978-96, 135 or 150 (but not 150 XR6 or XRI models), that have 2.00:1 gears are a direct replacement.

And when you are trying to figure a "fair price" for a used one, consider that Merc still sells the entire lower unit for your model with a price tag of about $5100....

I often see these listed on Ebay for between about 750 and 1000 bucks. I would consider that a fair price if it's been tested."
