Merc Conrtrols Question

Just purchased a 20' pontoon with a 1995/96 Merc 25hp on it. I want to upsize the motor and have located a 93 50 hp Merc that does not come with the controls. Will the controls that came with the boat work on the 50hp as well? The 25 does not have power t & t but the 50 does.

look at the controls that you have...does it have the buttons for trim?.....also look at the plugs to see if the same...
