my outboard is not in the right gear.
here is what happened...
i changed the impeller yesterday. motor was in neutral.
pulled off lower unit and changed impeller. turned the prop around to see what gear it was in. neutral just as noted.
was a piece of cake for first impeller change i did.
stuck the lower unit back on. screwed on.
come up and notice the shifter was in FORWARD?
i start up the outboard and its in neutral but the lever is in FORWARD.
if i shift the lever from FORWARD to NEUTRAL, the prop is in REVERSE.
right now its back in the FORWARD shift position, where the prop is in neutral.
how do i fix this?
im thinking take lower unit back off and just shift the shifter back into neutral since the lower unit is already in neutral, but unsure if this is correct way or non damaging solution.
