Hello. Newbie here have mercury 110 9.8 hp serial number 3926137 . Need info on which female hose connector. It seems there are 2 and the one I have is too big. Thanks. Peloniac

Just switch it over to newer style connecters !----One on the motor and one on the hose.-----Do the shopping for the best deal.-----Johnson / Evinrude /Mercury / Yamaha all can be made to work.-------Or just eliminate it altogether and go with one connecter at the tank end !

The little size connectors are getting hard to find. Call Tim's Outboard in Hackensack MN. They can probably ship you one pretty cheap. 218 682 2331 I have the one you need but I collect them. Often I find the little Mercs for sale, but no fittings, hoses, or tanks. Seems there is a shortage of them. You could also retrofit like Racer suggests, to the larger couplings.

I have done conversions to the larger size for other reasons too. Often the boat owner has say a 50 horse and a 7.5 trolling motor, both Mercs. They want to be able to switch tanks and hoses around. It also seems the larger size coupling is more durable and the newer designs have a check valve on the motor/male end.

Thanks for help and laughs everyone. Shop in mn. Put me on right path. Very nice people. They used crystal ball and ser. Number to figure it out. Turns out mine is the more common larger size and the part had a ridge worn in and wouldn't fit. I had to pull out my plastic micrometer to prove it to myself. Now on to my challenger 5.5. Peloniac

I have one of those plastic mics too. Close enough for government work. Got a nice one too. Tim's Outboard is as fine a shop you will ever find. They have supported me for over 10 years. Tim, Mike, and Dan just celebrated their 51st anniversary in business.
