"Aquired a non running 7.5, st

"Aquired a non running 7.5, stripped engine for inspection. Crank, pistons & liners in good condition. Re-built engine got good compression & spark but when trying to start get severe kickback. Any ideas"

Thanks for that JB. Just put everything back as it came off so obviuosly someone has had a go before. Hopefully someone can let me know the colour coding for the circuit from coils to CDs.
Anyone know the age S/N 9220981

Think wiring Ok but carb seems to have had it- carb is flooding all the time, have tried cleaning & re-building but looks as if somebody has botched carb up before, Pity as rest of motor is in good nick-question could severe flooding cause hydraulicing effect to give kickback in a 2 stroker"

The jets were a hair different, but the powerhead is identical and will bolt right up. In fact, the carb was about the only difference between the 7.5 and 9.8 horse..."
 
The 7.5 and 9.8 use the same c

The 7.5 and 9.8 use the same carb the difference is the main jet and venturie inside the carby.
One venturie restricts the airflow.
