I want to add a kill switch to this motor since it did
not come with one and wanted to make sure I wire
it correctly. Do I just add the two wires from the switch
to the two ignition wires? Then flip the switch and it's
a start/stop mode?

No you need 3 wires one from each set of points? and one to ground with a double pole single throw switch. You tie the ground together on the 2 terminals.

(This applies to the 2 cylinder models.) If that would work why is my 200 (1960) wired with 3 wires as per the manual as is my friend's 1965 350. Guys on another site asked this question many times and found out when you tie the point wires together it slows down but doesn't stop.
Here's a wiring diagram

I bought this motor for $40 removed the flywheel to see and everything
looks brand new even the points.
Someone removed the switch and the small block the wires
sit on. I made a phenolic block and attached.
I try to upload pic but it's not working

If you have a Mercury dealer that's been around for awhile ,near you, you might get the parts as they were used on a lot of motors of different HPs.

Simple switch ( 2 wires ) to tie the wires from points together.-----That stops the motor.

So right now there's two tan wires coming out from under the
flywheel one has a small red sleeve on it. Have not tried to start
motor yet but let's say it starts and runs. With the motor running
I could just touch the two wires together and that would kill the
motor? Correct?
I thought I had to run a wire to ground somewhere.

Right....when one wire is open, the other wire is grounded. Points are not open or grounded together at the same time. We are simply using one set of points to ground out the other. I suggest a push button switch, why? If left in off position, a typical single throw switch will not cause a problem if accidentally left in stop position. That's just MY advice!
