"I'm looking to do a repower on an older runabout and see that mercruiser sells repower packages. I'm looking for a part number that gets you a 4.3L V6 mpi 220hp engine with power steering, alpha one gen. II outdrive, transom bracket and assembly,and trim pump. does a part number like this exist? any help would be great Thanks"

"Contact your local Merc. dealer for a complete repower on an "older runabout". It better be a great boat because your're going to spend $10,000 - $12,000. Check your hull condition, check the transom, stringers and floor for rot before proceeding. You may need to run a new cable from the engine to the dash for the repower. Computer controlled engines are sensitive to electrical glitches that come w/old wiring. Buy a newer boat w/the engine you want."
