My fishing buddy bought a used Tracker 16ft Panfish w/ 40 Merc last year. recently it started acting screwy. The diagnosis tree indicated fuel problems. I rebuilt the carbs, fuel pump, replaced hoses and completely drained the internal gas tank. I am happy with the rebuild.
symptoms are; When the motor is in gear it won't power up. It stalls. I wonder if it might be the stator. The key ignition switch has a choke feature. Push the key in it's like a juicer. The motor will rev when I push the key in. So I'm confused. Is it fuel or electrical related?
