merc 40 1980 throttle and shift controls

hi i have put everything together apart from where the shift and throttle controls fit on the engine does anyone know of any drawing or can guide me through please.

ok so these are what i'm having problems with. The one thats on the engine if this is the throttle control how does it attatch to the throttle and the other one is this for the gear select and where do i put it and fix it as i cant see any space for it please help.

There's a arm about 4 inches long that connects the shifter arm under the carb) to the lower slider.
