I bought a brand new Sea Ray 175 in 2008. My purpose was to be spared putting any money in the hole in the water as I was told. Here I am basically on my 4th summer on the water with 38 hours on the motor and now off the warrenty I have a leak.
Not bad but it really burns me. Look aft by the alternator I am getting oily drips near it. I cannot figure out where it is dripping from but its wrecking my alternator belt and looks as if it may be getting worse.
I don't want to pay a mechanic to track it down and fix it mainly because I'm mad about a new engine with a leak.
Does anyone seen a typical leak in this general area of the engine? Being black painted it is hard to see things when running the engine. Plus it is a very minor leak but it needs to be dealt with before my next season.
