"Thanks, I like it cause you can just turn that tiller for forward, neutral and reverse. Its pretty messed up too, the drive shaft is broke. I got another question, do you know anything about the Seloc manuals, I found one for $15, and it will cover my 65' and this new 85'. Is it work the money. You have been and valuable resource, thanks. Dutch"

"Dutch, that is an excellent manual for your particular motor (Seloc's volume 1 1965-91, 1 and 2 cylinder Tune up and Repair manual).

I pulled it from my pile of books to get the whole title. I rely on that, plus my Merc Service manuals, but the Seloc's is excellent by itself - just stay away from Clymers manuals..."

"I have a 1984 Merc 25hp xd manual start. I am converting it to an electric start. I just purchased the flywheel gear, aux stator, starter, starter selenoid, and rectfier. I have the Seloc manual but it is too broad for particulars. On the engine it is obvious where the starter and stator goes, but not sure of the mounting of the selenoid and the rectifier. Does anyone have this engine 84 or 85 to give me an idea where to mount these components??"
