"As a first time poster here, any help with this would be appreciated. (I tried posting this to another board but got no replies).
I was hoping that someone could verify that a few wires are properly connected in my 2001 Merc (Yamaha) 4 stroke 25 HP Big Foot OB motor. It runs fine but is hard to start after it has sat a bit, which I can deal with. But in doing some minor lube and service on it, I noticed something that appears odd with the wiring at the front of the power head.
There are three single wires at the front of the engine - each has quick connectors. There is a blue/white connected to a green/white, a green/white connected to a blue/white, and finally a brown/white that is disconnected from it's brown/white counter part. Logic would tell me that the blue/white should go the to blue/white and the green/white should to the green/white...is it proper that they are 'cross-connected'?
Finally, I'm wondering if the brown/white, which is disconnected from it's mate, should be connected.
I've attached a picture that shows all three wires. Again, any help with this appreciated!!!
