"Made a 35 mile run back a almost full throtle when I attempted to bring her down in a no wake zone it slowed down to idle then immediately went back to 2800 RPMs. It would not shift into neutral, foward and reverse were the only options at 2800 RPMs. The shifter was also hard to move.
I attempted to start it the next day and it immediately reved to 2800 RPMs. Shut it off. The control is difficult to move from forward to reverse.

Any suggestiongs?

I had the same type of problem

I had the same type of problem happen to one of my 250 EFIs and it wound up being one side of the small vaccume hoses that runs behind the injection unit came off and got hung up in the intake butterfly not letting it compleatly close and come down to idle.
Just a shot in the dark.
