" Have a Merc 150 Black Max that keeps fouling the #1 plug, not #2 not even #6 Just the darn #1. New stator, new plugs, Does anyone have any ideas of what might be causing this? "

" Braggin,
I know this isn't answering your question but I have one of my own. I have a '95 150 Merc Blackmax as well. When you start your engine does the inline fuel filter (located right before the carbs) have a constant amount of gas in it while the motor is running. Is it half full or quarter full? I have a problem where when I prime the engine I have gas in the inline but as she runs the gas level in the filter begins to decrease to the point where it is just "spitting" gas around in there. Take a look if you have a minute you would really be helping me out. Thanks "

Never have looked at whether

Never have looked at whether it has a constant amount of gas in it but as soon as we can get it to run longer than 15 minutes without fouling the #1 plug I'll get back to you.

Plug is fouling. We're go

Plug is fouling. We're going to put some muffs on it and run it next weekend to see what is actually happening. All we know is that you can't run it more than 15 minutes before the #1 begins to foul. If you run it full bore you can go a little longer but you can't let it idle for more than a few minutes before the plug fouls. You would think it was a fuel problem if it wasn't just the #1.
