posted earlier on 1998 carb merc 150 offshore that had possible stator problems. after running thirty minutes or so and then idling for five minutes the boat would not plane out again until cool. Turns out all ignition and timing issues are fine. Fuel and filters are fine. mechanic has cleaned carbs and replaced needles and seats and adjusted floats and now boat won't plane even the first time. He says he thinks it may be excess pressure delivered by the fuel pump because of a broken sealing ring in the crankcase allowing crankcase pressure to be erratic. he says on this motor it is like each cylinder has it's own crankcase. This motor has under 75 hours on it. Does any of this sound possible? Any ideas on what else could be the issue? HHHEEELLLPPP!!!

Each cylinder does have it&#39

Each cylinder does have it's own crankcase.I am not sure about the excees pressure from the fuel pump ( somebody is guessing ).Is the fuel being premixed?? Is the so called " automatic oil injection " being used???Has the drive gear for the oil injection been checked????

"not premixed, oil injection i

"not premixed, oil injection is being used, would a bad drive gear cause these symptoms?
thanks"

"Before doing anything else co

"Before doing anything else confirm that oil injection is indeed working and do a compression test as well , there is no point at guessing any more."

Stator/module problem. If this

Stator/module problem. If this is CDM than unplug the 4 pin with the purple wire and try again. If so check the trigger. That will narrow it down to ign. If the oil gear failed than the motor would lunch. Compression is fine.

Ignition tests fine even durin

Ignition tests fine even during failure. There is plenty of fire and it is timed correctly. Any other ideas? thanks
