Merc 140 binding when shifting in forward

This boat goes into gear and shifts fine from sitting still position. When in forward shifting seems to be binding. I can put pressure on the contol and it will jump from forward to reverse or reverse to forward and is very difficult to get into neutral when under power at idle speed.

Interuptor switch on the shift bracket on engine area. Long cable and short cable connect there.

Interuptor switch Kills ignition for a split second to ALLOW the gears to dissengage and allow easy shifting from forward or reverse back to neutral.......
