Merc 110 98 hp tiller conversion

"I just bought a 1975 mercury

"I just bought a 1975 mercury 9.8 hp motor (serial 4080775), and I want to attatch throttle and shift cables to it. Mercury says that they don't make a connection kit, but the motor has slots for the cables, and holes for some kind of adapter. Any help would be greatly appreciated."

Your model design is so different from even the ones produced 10 years later that you can not even retrofit one of those kits.

You can try getting ahold of the guys at www.oldmercs.com If they can't help you maybe they can steer you in the right direction.

If not you may just have to engineer something yourself......"
