" I have a 1980 35hp Evinrude, I have rebuit the carb, (with the exception of replacing the "core plugs), replaced the spark plugs and checked the inline filter.....my problem.......

It will start up in about 6-8 pulls, it runs pretty smooth while its going for 30-40 seconds at 1000-1500rpms and after about 30-40 seconds it seems like it runs out of gas.....then I can't get it started again......I try the next day and get it going in about 6-8 pulls, then the same thing.

What could it be.....? PLEASE HELP need to get fishing this year(havent been out yet...)

I'm sure there are other things it could be, but be sure that the vent on your gas tank is open first. Try starting it again, and this time pump the primer bulb as it is running; if you can keep it running this way, you most likely have a fuel pump issue. A bad fuel pump or lack of fuel tank venting would cause it to "run out of gas".
