"Richard,
Just an amateur here and do not know how similiar the 5 and 6 are, but on my MD6-A raw water engine I found a number of the circulation passages inside the heat exchanger on the manifuld were plugged. Enough were open to allow circulation out of the exhaust.
I was able to restore all of the circulation passages in the heat exchanger by repeated overnight soakings of a Volvo Penta product called Neutra-Salt combined with probing and drilling with various items.
Good success,
Kurt K."
