MD50B Diagnostics says CPS Failure

Recently got a 2003 MD50B running, it had sat for a while. It starts ands idles and sounds great, once out on the water it would not accelerate much faster that idle speed. I ran diagnostics and had RPM 5000, left light off, cent & right on. Which I took to mean Crank Position Sensor Failure.

The sensor appears to be in good condition and there is not any corrosion on the wires to and from.

I could use a little help determining what to do next.

Do you have the Factory service manual?

NO, I don't, I have a few copies of pages I got from a mechanic, but not a whole manual
