I seem to have a slow oil leak

I seem to have a slow oil leak from my reverse reduction gear casing. Has anyone here replaced the front transmission seal on this unit? Is this possible without removing the engine?

Gear has to be removed from engine. Seal is behind three finger shaped carrier that has to be removed from front gear shaft.
