can any one tell me what max r

can any one tell me what max rpm is for this engine mine will only rev to 4000. also at what rpm should i set the ignition timing with the strobe. is it 19 degrees b.t.c. thanks Ged

timing is set at

timing is set at WFO throttle,..or 5000,.
make sure your timer base,is advancing to the 'stop'...make sure carbs are open fully at wot...
do a full ck up on eng,to verify condition....comp-spark--fuel delivery.
ck anti syphon valve on tank if there.
chg fuel filters...
last but NOT least...prop condition and PITCH..u may just have too much prop."

Do not rev a motor while running in the driveway. I suggest you calibrate your tachometer.You should find a shop that has a MARINE DYNOMOMETER to check this engine out.Too much guessing has already been done.
