Marnier 15 hp engine trigger coil

Trigger coil has a white powder coming out where the wires go into the coil. Should I go ahead and replace or is this common? I have seen Pic of used coils on ebay with this same problem, if it is actually a problem. Just wondering if any one has encountered this or knows why it happens.

And has anyone use the unbranded trigger coils from Amazon or ebay? Just wondering if they are OK to use or if they fail quick.
