Mark 55 idle issue

"Dad has an old Mark 55 which runs great except for this idle issue that he hasn't been able to get fixed so I thought I'd try to help him out. The motor runs great but won't idle after it warms up. It will start and idle for hours on end, but once the throttle is advanced it won't idle at all until it has cooled down. Any thought?"

"exactly. you can idle around all day long but once it has warmed up and you open it up, it won't idle again until cooled down."
