"Terrible acceleration wont go above 2200 RPMs. Then once in a while it would work fine all the way to 5600 RPM. I notice the engine vibrates a little when i try to go full throttle. Then all of a sudden the the RPM. picks up real fast all the way to maximum speed. I checked the fuel ,plugs, and carbs everything seems fine. ANY Advice from somone who knows these engines?"

It sounds like an intermittent electrical problem. Try a spark test. The spark needs to jump a wide gap of at least 7/16 in.

I would suspect either a switch box, or the trigger coil, but the stator could also be the problem.

either a stator or switch box problem. stators are more intermittent where as switch boxes usually stay faulty.

"WOW i was looking up those items and they are quite expensive From the Mercury Marine Website. So if and when i must replace any of the items described to me, does any one know a good place to get it cheaper than the dealer? Or perhaps online? Thanks for your help guys The weather really hasn't been to forgiving hear in Michigan. So I will deffinately tak a better look Tomorrow it supposed to be little warmer i think."
