can anyone tell me where or if I can get parts for a Mariner outboard 2M serial #6A1-069197 and possibly the year.

You have a 1983 Yamaha built (for Merc) Mariner.

The 6A1 equates to the Yamaha model it was cloned from. In this case your motor is "mechanically" a 1979 Yamaha model 2B.

Merc also listed this as a Mariner model "2B".
