i just need some basic informa

i just need some basic information about a 1996 mariner 45 outboard. my 40 yamaha overheated on me and i am looking at a replacement motor. they want 600 for it and i know little about the mariners. is this one a yamaha built one or a mercury built one? will it have oil injection or premix? is it worth 600? i need any help you all can give. thanks
