mariner low end problem

Hi

I have Mariner 150 Hp V6 outboard from early 1980s. Low end was detached when I got the engine. Now my plan is to put it back together for summer.

Problem is that I don't know where I connect tube seen on left from the gear shift? I have service manual put it didn't give any help.

Hopefully someone from here can help thanks?

That is for a speedometer if boat is equipped with one.
