I aquired a mariner 40hp magnum(1995 or 96 i think) when my father passed away, and have to replace it on the boat myself. I am trying to confirm the hoisting locations so I can fabricate a lift. On inspetion of upper part of engine I found 3 square holes (all on the same vertical plane) 2 on the front of the engine and 1 on the back, are these the lifting locations?? Also any info on this engine would be nice i.e. reliability,performance or known problems.
