Hi folks looking for some advi

Hi folks looking for some advice on a recently purchased mariner 20hp it has an electric starter but no cables fitted for hook-up to battery i was going to make some up. What thickness of wire would you recommend and where do the original earth and starter cable attach?

I would use 6 gage wire

"Hi,
I would use 6 gage wire black and red.If you can't find the red wire then just use some red marking tape to mark the + wire.

Red(+) wire should go to the starter sol.
Black(-) should go the motor ground and it has to be clean. All connections should be made up wire with eyes. Use brass washers on sol post to keep the wire from moving while tighting. Ground wire most use the sol mounting bolt. I use it when I can but any clear flat surface bolt can be used if it's clean same as before, use brass washers and make sure the bolt is tight.
