I have a Mariner 9.9 with electric start as a kicker motor on my boat. The motor ran great when I winterized it last fall. It would not start this spring so I pulled a plug to see if it was sparking and it was not. I checked this by using a screwdriver on the spark plug hole and holding the plug against it. I also used a meter to the plug cable and the plug hole. I got not spark both times. What do I check next and how do I check it?
Also ?I always run the gas out of the motor at the lake but if the boat sits for a long time I have a real hare tome starting it. I have not been able to figure out the trick to starting it? It seems to start best if I move the fast idle handle up and down about 30 times ?sounds strange but it seems to help it start?
Any help and or advice on both would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks - Bud
