I have a Mariner 90 2 stroke I am trying to replace the electric trim motor on. I have the motor tilted up and removed the six bolts from the sides of the tilt trim unit and the cross bolt from the top of the piston. I can move the tilt trim unit around but cannot figure out how to pull it out. It seems like the outboard bracket won’t let it come out while the motor is still on the boat.
Any tricks I am missing on how to remove this so I can replace the electric trim motor?
