I just bought a Mariner 9.9m how do i find out what year it is? Serial #682-cs 046191 Ive looked threw many manuals and online forums and cant find anything, is there anyone who can help me? Thx

Yamaha built and mechanically a Yamaha but built for Merc and sold as a Mariner.

682 - Yamaha designator making it "mechanically" a 1978 B model Yamaha

C - tiller or control capable
S - short shaft (for 15" transom)

046191 - manufactured in 1983 as a rope start (manual start) short shaft from factory
