water is not coming out, and the water pump was replaced. what else could be the problem?
will a malfunctioning thermostat block water circulation?
if something is blocking the system, how do i clean up the system? do i have to open the power head?

It looks like the

It looks like the tell-tale water is discharged from the bottom of the block, on the starboard side on your model. This means that water should be discharged even if the thermostat is clogged. On these models, the problem is frquently an obstruction in the water jacket at the bottom of the block. You could insert a probe into the discharge hole or blow compressed air into it to try and clear it up.

Water should also be discharged through the lower unit.

It may useful to remove the gearcase again if necessary and connect a water hose directly to the water tube. Then you can see how well the water circulates easily.

where is the water jacket at the bottom of the block exactly? how do I access there?
where should i expect the water to come out, if i connect the a hose directly to the water tube?
i have some problems removing the cover to reach the thermostat. apparently because it was painted.
i tried prying and loosing it with a rubber hammer, but it doesn't want to come off.
do you have any suggestion on how to do it without damaging anything?
