Mariner 8 no charging voltage

Hi all,

My Mariner 8 has no output voltage to charge the battery. When i bought the motor I noticed that the wires are burned. How to troubleshoot this problem?
Any advice please?

My motor is made in Japan. I can’t find the rectifier on the motor there is only CDI part. Is this a rectifier? it would be appreciated if I see some pictures

item #5 COIL 41829T is available from this site. Test the coil prior to replacement. Since it is a coil it should have some resistance but not infinity. Do you have a manual? 0.7 ohmes, and i don't have a manual. You think I need a new coil?

What wires? If it is the charging coil it may have shorted, thus 0.7 ohms.

Check the #7 lighting coil resistance for comparison.

The output wires that goes to the battery were shorted.
