i have a mariner 75 hp circa

i have a mariner 75 hp circa 1988. how do i get the power tilt motor off to repair or replace.i am hoping it can be done with engine on boat as i dont have the means to lift engine. thanks for any help

" It is possible to do it on the boat. But depending on the type if it is a three ram your in luck they still make parts for those. If you have a single ram good luck they have a upgrade kit for those for about 650.00. You will need to tip the motor all the way up to do it, there is a pin that goes through anothre pin at the top of the lifting ram. remove it and slide large pin out of ram. REMEMBER TO SUPPORT THE MOTOR WITH TILT LOCK. and if its a three ram you will have 6 bolts toremove at the bottom end. single ram has another pin set up on the bottom lay in the ground look straight up at the bottom right hand side you should see the end of the locking pin drive it up and pusg large pin out and remove unit. "
