I have my 75 hp mariner running good on the hose but haven't had time to put in the water yet. my question when I put a timing light on the plug wires the firing looks the same on all of them but number 3 cyl. Looks like 3 is firing twice as fast as the rest. What could this be?

OK, I got a chance to put it in the water and it ran good at WOT but when I would slow down to a idle it would shut off and I had to really choke to get it going again. as long as I keep the rpm's up a little it runs fine just cut off at idle. the carbs have been cleaned and the compression on all 4 cylinders are good. any thoughts on what it might be ?
