"1997 25 ft. crest 3 pontoon with mariner 50 hp. 4 stroke cavitates from medium to high speed. we just put a new prop on, and it still cavitates.What prop size and pitch is recomended for this boat and motor? The cavitation started with the original prop purchased new with the new pontoon."
 
well you kinda got a problem i

well you kinda got a problem if its cavitating you got a short shaft on a long shaft transom i just had the exaxt same problem with my 14'fiber glass boat cept i had to cut the transome refiberglass it all but for you it will be way easier if you want to do this you could find some one that has a plasma cutter to cut the transom down unless you can find another way like a long shaft of a 50hp mariner

the cavitation plate should be at least 2 inches below the half way point of the pontoons. so that seems to be what your problem is.
